As I have mentioned below, I had an idea of the most universal design. I wanted to make a shade that can be used for a table lamp design or for the wall installation, or for independent light sculpture. It can be used by itself or in combination with the others, can be one-sided or two-sided and in many different positions too. The possibilities were endless, and I started to explore those shades in combination with each other. For this purpose, I have made three separate light sculptures, two with concave light side and one with convex. I used most beautiful ammonites for my shades and when everything was ready, the name: “The ancient wave” have instantly come to my mind.
The shade by itself is measuring 16 inches (400mm) by 7.5 inches (187mm). The additional high and width are determined by the base. Here I have only three shades with so many applications and more to think about.
This beautiful lights with handpicked selection of ammonites are for sale. Please contact me for the price and shipping info.

A quite unusual idea to combine a stained-glass ammonite fossil shade with stone tablet with fossil fish. The design turned out to be very simple but very elegant. Each fossil is beautiful on its own but together they do not crush, more like they complement each other. Such lamp is real touch of the past, the reminder of the time when there were no people, and such unusual but beautiful life was flourishing.
The size of lamps is determined by the size of the tablets and number of them. Entire artwork can be 12 inches (300mm) to 24 inches (600mm) tall (maybe more) and who knows how wide, all is determined how many panels are involved. The shades can vary in form and size and color too. There are no two similar fish panels so each lamp will be unique.
Some of the lamps are available right now, some are sold. Please let me know if you like me to make one for you and we can go through selection of fossil fish, shade designs and color of the glass.

This rectangular dish is yet another lamp with ammonites from the “Dish” family. This time I wanted to make something big, something that would really bring all the beauty of glass and ammonites. This light sculpture is 18 inches (450mm) long and over 12 inches (300mm) wide.

The next lamp with ammonites from the “DISH” family is coming square, only corners are rounded. Each design brings it’s own challenges and making 12 inches (appr. 300mm) square dish have brought plenty of these, but the results are breathtaking. It has finest ammonites and cobalt-blue iridized glass was worth searching for all over the country.
The first lamp with ammonites was a success and I really wanted to make another one. This time I have chosen iridized glass of flamingo color. The result was as beautiful as before. The both lamps were sold too quickly but I will gladly make new one with glass of your choice.
If lamp can be shaped like the round dish, then why it can’t be oval? When people think about glass, sheet glass in particular, they think about it as something flat and glass products are imagined as flat too. But, frankly, any shape is possible; from geometrical to surrealistic and I will try to explore many of them. This one is oval, made of beautiful pearl-colored iridescent glass with selected, hand-picked ammonites and, as a centerpiece, amethyst crystals in the middle. The amethyst mingles well with the glass that was used for the borders.
With this art piece I begin to explore a totally new shape for the lamp. This time it is “DISH”. Yes, the face of the lamp is bowing inward creating additional depth and volume while the entire light sculpture is no more than 1 inch (25mm) thick. This lamp with ammonites is quite of substantial size: 14 inches in diameter (appr. 350mm) but looks very light, very gracious. It looks great with any base or being mounted on the wall.

Back to my one of my most-successful moon design. This is a new version of it and again, is a very beautiful blend of artistry and engineering. Like the original “Moon”, the new lamp consists of two panels with the middle side of the panels bows inside and in this time they have opening in the middle. Panels are holding together by another invention of mine and can be easily be taken apart if needed. The diameter of the glass part is about 14 inches or 355mm. The base is made of iron and entire light sculpture stands 17 inches (432mm) tall and 16 inches (406mm) wide. I made it with different kinds of glass and results were always amazing.
The slim elegance of my gothic windows had inspired me for this breathtaking light sculpture. It stands 53 inches tall (1m 325 mm) and can grace by itself any room, may it be in a house, office or restaurant.
This is a newer lamp that was made in a shape of gothic window. The lamp is barely 1 inch (25 mm) thick and looks so slim and pretty. The front panel was made out of finest ammonites and most beautiful mottled glass. I had to search many places to find the glass, but it was worth it. The glass and ammonites are in such perfect balance and so compliment each other.

I often use words such as: “simple and elegant” when I describe my light sculptures, but this lamp with ammonites deserves such description more than others of my creations

The first “Moon” lamp was so beautiful and created a lot of new ideas that I’m eager to explore. I suddenly realized that there is infinite number of possibilities and each can be incredible beautiful.
This new version of “The Moon” light sculpture that is also a very beautiful blend of artistry and engineering. Like the first “Moon” lamp, this ammonite lamp become a great success. Look at the pictures, the “Moon” lamp consists of two panels, each has a “constellation” of ammonites attached to it. Ammonites are three-dimensional with fully exposed spiral and they are not imbedded into glass but hanging on their own. Middle side of the glass panels bows inside. The distance between two opposite panels in the middle of the lamp is no more than 12mm or 1/2 of the inch. Panels are holding together by another invention of mine (called “zipper”) and can be easily be taken apart if needed. The diameter of the glass part is about 14 inches or 355mm. The base is made of iron and entire light sculpture stands 15 inches (381mm) tall and 16 inches (406mm) wide.

This beautiful design gives an infinite number of possibilities. I couldn’t even imagine in how many ways this light can be used. But first, let me tell more about it.
I wanted to create a screen that could be a lamp too. This way the screen could be placed by the wall or in the middle of the room on the little table. The screen should have light inside but still be flat enough. I had to figure out the way how it lights up and how light bulbs can fit in. It was quite a challenge for something that is barely 1 inch thick (25mm) and even smaller inside. As the result, each panel consists of two sides and can be easily taken apart. Each panel is approximately 7-by14 inches big (180-by-360 mm) and each side has different color. This way the lamp has two colors, like it is two different screens. But it is not all. Panels can be linked together in a triangle and screen will look like a try-sided table lamp. When it is linked one way, it has blue colors out, the other way has more greens out.
The screen can be taken apart, each panel is lighted individually. It can be used as two-sided screen or each panel can become individual lamp. It can be placed on the table in special base or attached to the wall as sconce. It can be hanged too. This why I’ve said about infinitive number of ways this lamp is used.
This particular lamp is sold (almost instantly) but I can make one for you. It can be even prettier with slightly different shape of panels.

Here is a new lantern in Chinese style that I really wanted to make after my trip to China and seeing those beautiful old Chinese buildings and palaces. If you look at the pictures, you will realize that each side and each panel of the lantern caves inside like roofs of Chinese pavilions. Not a single panel is flat. The beautiful flamingo color glass and ammonites are making the really wonderful blend. It took 48 highest grade ammonites to complete each lamp. The shade is 6-by-12 inches, the lantern stands 13 inches.
This beautiful light sculpture was made recently and now is for sale. Please contact me for the price and shipping information.

Here is a new lantern in Chinese style with such beautiful colors that my wife called it “Summer night”. The name fits perfectly well for such perfect blend of ammonites and stained glass. It took 40 highest grade ammonites to complete each lamp. The shade is 6-by-12 inches, the lantern stands 13 inches. The shade of the light sculpture consists of very different ammonites, some are small and some are very large.
The lams is sold, but I can make another one or pair for you if you are interested.

I often use word “unique” to describe my creations but it perfectly fits this light sculpture that is very beautiful blend of artistry and engineering. My wife called it “Moon” lamp and since then this ammonite lamp become a huge success. I had to make several of them and more people are interested. Look at the pictures, the “Moon” lamp consists of two panels, each has 26 ammonites. Middle side of the panels bows inside. The distance between two opposite panels in the middle of the lamp is no more than 12mm or 1/2 of the inch. Panels are holding together by another invention of mine and can be easily be taken apart if needed. The diameter of the glass part is about 14 inches or 355mm. A couple of very beautiful lamps that were done in “Chinese Lantern” style. Both ammonite lamps are 6-by-12 inches (155×310 mm) in size (shade only) and look totally beautiful. The unusual shape of the lamp brought few additional challenges how the light will pass through, but I solved them with some ingenuity. There are no two similar panels in each lamp, each side is unique as unique ammonites that went into them.
Both lamps with ammonites are currently is shown in Europe but if you are interested, I can make a one for you. It will look different but very beautiful too.

My latest creation: a very beautiful lamp for which I used milky glass and 40 ammonites, with a totally different shape than before. As you can see, glass panels are concave, and ammonites are in convex shape, creating additional depth and showing all the beauty of ammonites. It also has one large ammonite on the top as a cover that keeps the light trapped inside. The lantern stands 13 inches high and it is 7 inches wide.
This totally unique lamp with ammonites is sold. Please contact me if you like me to create something similar.

Here I proudly present one of my most favorite masterpieces. It took more than one hundred ammonites to create this light sculpture and I had to work with each ammonite individually to have all its beauty exposed. This lamp is about 8.5 inches (over 216 mm) in diameter and 14 inches (356 mm) tall. The lamp also has a round cover with one big ammonite in the middle.
The lamp is sold, but I will gladly make a new one with your choice of glass.

This lamp is very pretty and elegant. The shade consists of two curved panels roughly 10-by-10 inches (250 mm) in size. It took over 60 ammonites to build this lamp. The base is made out of walnut.
The lamp is sold, but I will gladly make a new one with your choice of glass.

Here are two of my rectangular lamps with ammonites. Those lamps were made with approximately 46 ammonites (each worked individually) and lamps’ size is 4.5-by-9-by-12 inches. The base is slightly wider and longer and made out of Butternut wood or Walnut.

This lantern consists out of three 7-by-14 inches separate panels. They not soldered to each other, it is more like “hinged” connection and they can be easy separated by taking the rods out. Note that all the surfaces are flat in this position, all the ammonites here with their sliced side out. Look what happens if you will take one rod out. The lantern can be easily transformed into the screen. It can be fireplace screen or, using the original light, it can be screen lamp.
Now, let’s see how this shade looks on the other side. See how different the surface, the texture. I used to grind ammonites flat before, now they have their forms intact. The lamp’s surface becomes now three-dimensional with ammonites sticking out. I would say, there is much more work involved to prepare each ammonite to show both sides, but the results are amazing.
The lamp is ready now to assume its 4rt position and go back on base with all the panels locked into triangle.

My next lamp with ammonites didn’t start as the wall light but I changed design in the process and it turned really beautiful. Such design allows to see all ammonites at once.
My very first lamp with ammonites. When I had the idea to incorporate ammonites into stained glass design I had no idea how to work with ammonites and if this idea will work at all. Few people who are the experts in geology and gemology tried to talk me out of doing that. They warned me that ammonites are extremely fragile, very sensitive to high temperatures and so on. Well, they were right. They only forgot to say that calcite, that ammonites are consist of, is also very sensitive to chemicals that are involved in stained glass works. I had to overcame that obstacle too. The result, that little lamp, only 5-by-10 inches was so pretty that I couldn’t stop and continued to explore with new designs.

I like to work with stained glass, but I like to bring fossils there too. I pioneered in using ammonites with stained glass, a very careful process with many challenges, but the results are amazing. This panel is roughly 23″-by-22″ or 300-by-300 mm in size.
