The first “Moon” lamp was so beautiful and created a lot of new ideas that I’m eager to explore. I suddenly realized that there is infinite number of possibilities and each can be incredible beautiful.
This new version of “The Moon” light sculpture that is also a very beautiful blend of artistry and engineering. Like the first “Moon” lamp, this ammonite lamp become a great success. Look at the pictures, the “Moon” lamp consists of two panels, each has a “constellation” of ammonites attached to it. Ammonites are three-dimensional with fully exposed spiral and they are not imbedded into glass but hanging on their own. Middle side of the glass panels bows inside. The distance between two opposite panels in the middle of the lamp is no more than 12mm or 1/2 of the inch. Panels are holding together by another invention of mine (called “zipper”) and can be easily be taken apart if needed. The diameter of the glass part is about 14 inches or 355mm. The base is made of iron and entire light sculpture stands 15 inches (381mm) tall and 16 inches (406mm) wide.
