My newest fossil walrus ivory carving, “The seal migration” was carved out of entire walrus tusk that was tumbled in the sea for a long, long time. Even now it looks impressive being almost 24 inches (600mm)long and 2-3/4 or (70mm)wide. I carved it as deep as possible and some of the sea lions are almost free-standing. The base is made out of walnut.
