This big and massive figurine depicts a woolly mammoth that roamed the Earth thousands of years ago. The figurine is anatomically precise and shows a lot of detail, such as thin hair, skin folds and toes. The overall quality is extremely high, and the figurine looks awesome. It features huge tusks that were the pride of woolly mammoths.
This piece was hand-carved from a high-grade mammoth ivory. I rarely have pleasure to work with such nice material. It had no cracks at all. The mammoth is situated on a piece of mammoth tusk section, it was a part of the hollow section of the tusk, which adds to the composition.
The figurine itself measures about 4.5 inches long from the tips of the tusks to the farthest foot (or 110 mm) and 4 inches tall (100 mm) including the base.
