Description: |
This piece of mammoth tusk is only 3/16″ thin (about 4mm) at the thickest, but I managed to take the full advantage of this material by carving it as deep as possible. The owl is almost free-standing with every feather carved in full detail. The carving is 4-1/4 (108 mm) long and stands 2-3/4″ (70 mm) tall. The base is a small rectangular piece of mammoth ivory. |
