Carving a jellyfish was a really unique opportunity to bring forth the beauty of the creature, beauty of material and possibility to really challenge my craftsmanship. The entire ivory carving is made out of two different pieces of fossil walrus ivory with different coloration. The base is the butt part of fossil walrus tusk, it is so old that ivory had become black in some places. The jellyfish sits on the wavy silver rod. The height of the carving is 5.5 inches (140 mm) without the base. With the base, it is 6.5 inches (165 mm) high.

The ivory carving is SOLD
